Where are some good biking trails in the Austin, TX area?
Thursday, April 29th, 2010Hello, I am 13 and an avid biker, with a brand new bike! I am moving to Austin, TX in about a month, with a whole summer ahead of me. My dad is an avid runner so he would be more than open to going with me. The neighborhood in which we are moving to has some trails (greenbelts as they are called there) that have trails, but not a ton. I would like to get out in the wild a little bit. Another thing is nothing crazy steep either, the terrain really isn’t a huge issue for me, but I nothing too steep, and I know in Hill Country sometimes it is that way.
I did some searching on www.everytrail.com, but not everything was mapped out.
We would be willing to drive maybe 70-100 miles.
Thanks in advance!
I live in Austin and have ridden a number of trails in the area, but am no expert by any means.
Here’s a list of some that I know of:
Reimers Ranch
Muleshoe
Barton Creek Greenbelt
Rocky Hill
City Park/Emma Long (brutal)
Walnut Creek
Happy riding!
