How to get over my car crash without going crazy….?

I recently was involved in a car crash where I rear ended another car. After that incident I do not feel right. I am afraid and can not sleep at nite and when I am awake I just keep thinking about the accident. The one thing that bring me happiness in my life and a sense of security was my car. Now that it is damage I can not help but feel sad and depressed. That it got me thinking that I should not be driving anymore. Is this bad luck or what is it?

Well millions of accidents happen every year–world wide–that’s why they call them accidents–you made an error like all of us do when we are out and about doing what we do all day. These mistakes are a part of life and an opportunity to learn from our mistakes helps us to not make them again. You are not the first to hit someone in the butt–so learn why it happened–how to avoid it–like stay back and pay attention and slow down in the rain and bad weather. Get the car fixed–sit in it and say you are sorry–then start it up and take a spin—–see?? Its easy to get back into life. Relax, smile and good luck

You should feel bad, and you should feel like you shouldnt drive. You most likely werent paying attention. You should just be happy nobody was hurt or worse.

Maybe next time you drive youll think about how bad you feel now, and have some motivation to A: pay more attention, and B: drive better.

    Yo Brad
you are experiencing a form of Post Traumatic Stress — and it is a definite booger to deal with !!
Look at one very important Fact here, dude — you’re okay — and it could have very easily been a LOT worse !!
A damaged — or even destroyed car is NOT good — but, it is a THING — things can be fixed or new things can be obtained !! But, if you had permanently damaged yourself in this incident you would have every reason in the world to be dealing with MAJOR unfixable stuff !!
The "depression" and "sadness" is to be expected — this was not —- nothing !! And, in time you will "get back on the horse that threw you" — and, you’ll be just fine —– It just simply takes time !!!

and, with time it can be a world better than it is NOW — believe me !!

You will likely be a safer driver once the initial shock of the accident wears off. If the accident was your fault (likely since you said you rear-ended someone), then you are like to be more careful to avoid the actions that lead to the cause of the accident. If it was not your fault (someone jumped out in front of you) you’re likely to become more mindful and watchful of other drivers on the road. Either way, in the long run, you should become a BETTER driver because of the accident.

For heaven’s sake — if the only dang thing in your life that gave you happiness and security is your car then you need a shrink. Take a shower, eat a sandwich and move on with your life! I know I sound like a prick but someone needs to give you a kick in the butt and get you motivated so you will start enjoying life.
    Sheeze…..
